Camden SEND Needs and Specialist Provision

The map below combines data on Camden’s EHCP and Band 2 ENG cohorts, with data from GIAS and school censuses. This shows existing need and specialist provision across Camden and surrounding areas. We are aware of issues with the quality of this data as it relies on accurate reporting from schools (see information on data source below the the map).

To get the most from this map:

• Using the Cohort dropdown, pick whether to see incidence of thse with EHCPs, Band 2 ENGs, or both.
• Change how the percentages on the map are calculated. For example, selecting ‘Resident Population‘ shows the number of individuals with SEND needs as a proportion of the 0-24 year old resident population in each ward. In contrast, “Cohort Population” shows ward cohorts as a proportion of the total Camden cohort.
• Choose a specific type of SEND need and age range to highlight on the map.
• Adjust the SEND provision options to change which schools are mapped, for example by filtering for a school phase, a type of SEND provision or a SEND need type specialisation.
• Hover over wards or provision locations for further information

Source: SEND incidence is based on Camden’s January 2026 SEN2 return, and internal data on Band 2 ENGs. School information is based on data reported by schools in GIAS as at May 2026 (often based on the previous academic year) and from the January 2026 school censuses for independent schools and state-funded schools. In some instances, capacity or EHCP roll data is not available. Due to this poor data quality, we have estimated EHCP pupil numbers in different ways for different types of school. For example, in some cases we have used resourced provision and SEN unit capacity/roll instead of the reported number of EHCP pupils.
