Together with London Councils Young People Education and Skills team Mime have successfully bid for funding from the BIS Open Data Breakthrough Fund to develop an online tool to bring skills and labour market intelligence together. Skills Match will bring skills data and labour market data together to enable policy-makers, practitioners, particularly careers advisers in schools and colleges, and employers to take an intelligence-led, geographically specific approach to addressing youth unemployment in London. We are pleased to announce that, following a successful competition entry, we have been invited to attend the creation weekend for Nesta’s Educational Open Data Challenge. Having been set the brief, our team came up with the idea for “Skills Route” which is an app that uses open data on the post-16 performance of schools and colleges in different subjects to allow parents and young people to identify providers in their area at which they are likely to achieve their goals by age 18.
