Skills Match approved for the Open Data Breakthrough Fund

Together with London Councils Young People Education and Skills team Mime have successfully bid for funding from the BIS Open Data Breakthrough Fund to develop an online tool to bring skills and labour market intelligence together. Skills Match will bring skills data and labour market data together to enable policy-makers, practitioners, particularly careers advisers in schools and colleges, and employers to take an intelligence-led, geographically specific approach to addressing youth unemployment in London. We are pleased to announce that, following a successful competition entry, we have been invited to attend the creation weekend for Nesta’s Educational Open Data Challenge. Having been set the brief, our team came up with the idea for “Skills Route” which is an app that uses open data on the post-16 performance of schools and colleges in different subjects to allow parents and young people to identify providers in their area at which they are likely to achieve their goals by age 18. We are proud to announce that Intelligent London is now live and available in beta at www.intelligentlondon.org.uk. Developed in collaboration with London Councils, Intelligent London is the interactive tool for analysing data on the education and skills of young Londoners. It utilises the very best of data analysis and visualisation techniques so that those with an interest in supporting and promoting the interests of young people can easily access reliable data that looks great. London Councils’ Young People’s Education and Skills (YPES) team appoint Mime as their data partner

We are excited to announce that we have been selected to be the data partner of London Councils' Young People's Education and Skills (YPES)  team who are the lead strategic body for pan-London 14-19 education and training services. YPES provide advice on 14-19 education and training provision in relation to the current and future needs of learners and employers as well as assisting other stakeholders in planning, policy and provision.
