KS5 Subject Value Add by Schools and Colleges

The table below shows the 2019 KS5 value add scores for academic, technical and vocational qualifications across a range of subjects at all schools and colleges in your local authority. This allows you to quickly identify areas of strong practice, as well as schools, colleges, or subjects that may require additional support.

Value add is the difference between a pupil’s expected grade based on their prior attainment, and their final grade. For example, a +1.0 value add score means that the pupil achieved a full grade above what would be expected, given their prior attainment. School level subject value add scores are averages of all the pupils taking that subject in that school. Note that only pupils with a known prior attainment can be included.

How to read the table:

  • Schools are ordered left to right by their overall A Level or Applied General value add score
  • Blank cells mean that the qualification was taken by five or fewer students in that school or college
  • The value add scores for cohorts of 10 or more students are shown in bold, and an asterisk marks when the value add score is statistically significantly positive or negative
  • This analysis only shows the subjects with the most entries across your local authority (up to a maximum of 20), and only includes technical and vocational qualifications that are equivalent to one A Level.
